I am a recent graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta where I received a MFA in Interior Design. I received my BFA in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design in Chicago, my hometown.
I believe that how people respond to their environments is the foundation of what we do as interior designers. Interior spaces should communicate an idea and evoke an emotion that can reach a wide variety of the population. As designers we can connect our clients to their built environment by designing for the senses. A successful environment engages a person’s sense of smell, touch, sight, hearing and taste. The creation of spaces that are simply interesting or cool is tempting, but the ultimate goal is to design and build environments that meet the needs of our clients. The sense of community is a constant inspiration to create spaces that bring awareness to social issues as well as being aesthetically engaging.
Ultimately, I hope to professionally pursue branded environments, community design, retail and exhibition design.
